The ‘Jerre’ fast in Belgian Champs

02/05/2010

This weekend Jeremy Van Horebeek took part in Round 1 of the 2010 Belgian Motocross Championship held in Beervelde. Having won the MX2 class twice before, the ‘Jerre’ opted to contest the open class on his MX2 bike.

In the first moto of the day the ‘Jerre’ managed a reasonable start, considering he was on a 250cc machine in a class dominated by 450cc machines, rounding the opening lap in 14th position. Not one for hanging about mid-pack Van Horebeek was fighting through making passes wherever and whenever possible. In the end the CLS Pro-Circuit Kawasaki rider crossed the finish line in 8th position, and the 2nd placed 250cc rider.

Moto 2 was not as good a start for young Van Horebeek as he got taken down, having to re-mount his machine in last position. Absolutely flying on the 250F Kawasaki the ‘Jerre’ cut through the pack, and in the 30 minute race managed to get all the way through to 7th place, and the top finishing MX2 rider.

The ‘Jerre’ gave his comments: “It was pretty tough cutting through from the back in that 2nd race, but I enjoyed it and felt great on the bike. For the GP next week I am really aiming for a podium finish, it is time now! The bike is good and if I can pull it all together we should get the result. I am looking forward the up-coming GPs.”

The ‘Jerre’ will prepare this week for Round 4 of the MX2 World Championship, taking place in Portugal on the 9th May.
